Councillor David Baker

First elected Sheffield City Councillor for South Wortley, David served as a Councillor for eight years and before standing down in 1992 for business reasons. Re-elected in 1999, David has been a Councillor for 28 years, 24 years of which representing Stannington Ward.

During this period he has held a number of senior positions in both opposition and as part of the administration including:

2000 Chair of a Local Housing Panel, Chair of the South and East Planning Board and Deputy Chair of Direct Services.

2001/2 Cabinet Advisor to the Liberal Democrat Leader of the Shadow Cabinet (Cllr.Paul Scriven) with responsibility for Economic Development and City Centre Affairs.

2001/2 105th. Lord Mayor of Sheffield.

2007/10 Deputy Leader of Sheffield City Council. During this time David held a number of portfolios including the special responsibility for the creation of city wide 'Community Assemblies'. David currently holds the positions of Chief Whip to the Lib Dem Councillors group and Chair of the Local Area (North) Partnership.

David is married to fellow Councillor Penny, and when his role as Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather allow, David enjoys fishing and investigating Family Genealogy

First elected as City Councillor in 2006, Penny has served as a City Councillor for 13yrs, and has recently been elected as a Bradfield Parish Councillor.Her roles in the City Council have included Scrutiny Board Chair, Councillors Group Chair and Penny served on the Cabinet during the last Lib Dem administration with the portfolio for Housing, Regeneration and Planning

In 2001/2 Penny served as Lady Mayoress. She was Chair of the Sheffield Lib Dem Local Party from 2015 to 2018, and is currently the Deputy Leader of the Lib Dem Group on Sheffield City Council.

Born in Sheffield, Penny spent over 10 yrs. of her early adult life travelling in the UK and Germany as an Army wife.

Now married to fellow Councillor David, her interests include local history and investigating Family Genealogy together with David. As a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Vickie has represented the Lib Dems on the Sheffield City Council for just over 18 years, initially as a Councillor for Walkley for two years from 2000 - 2002 and since 2004 for Stannington Ward. She currently is appointed to the Licensing and Appeals and Collective Disputes Committees. In addition she has also been a Bradfield Parish Councillor for the past 22 years, and is currently Vice-Chair.

Vickie lived in the Loxley Valley for 30 years up to 2015, when she moved to Worrall.
